Today is National Margarita Day and what better way to celebrate than to head over to Babalu Restaurant for some of their awesome margarita deals and delicious tapas and tacos. While the Atlanta weather is finally making terms with the Spring weather transition, I was able to dine outside on their beautiful patio. Babalu Restaurant is located in Midtown and specializes in Latin-inspired tapas and handcrafted cocktails. I have to say I was shocked that it took me so long to discover this amazing restaurant but I am glad I was able to taste some delicious tapas and drinks here at Babalu.

ATMOSPHERE

Inside Dining Area

Bablu Tapas and Tacos has a fun and casual vibe to the restaurant. It is great for those working in the surrounding area that wants to grab a bite for lunch or even drinks after a long day at work. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun night out with friends who want to grab a bite to eat and drinks. I loved the spaciousness of the restaurant, and their patio seating is amazing. Did I mention the bar is also a great place to sit especially when the outdoor patio is open, and you can feel the outside air and beautiful sunshine?

DRINKS

Baba-Rita

Since it is National Margarita Day, I have to tell you about one of my favorite margaritas Bablu Tapas and Tacos has to offer. Their Baba-Rita is the signature cocktail and my absolute favorite. It is made with Patron Silver tequila, triple sec, house-made sweet and sour mix, agave and pomegranate juice. I would definitely recommend this to those who like to taste their tequila as  I do. Also in honor of National Margarita Day, their Baba-Rita will be $7 until this Sunday, February 25th!

FOOD

Pan Roasted Redfish

I have to say what made me love Babalu was their menu didn’t stick to what traditional Latin-inspired restaurants offer. Their restaurant offers tacos and margaritas, but it also has a broad tapas selection to choose from. One of my favorite dishes would have to be the Pan Roasted Redfish which comes with Rosti potatoes, smoked corn pico de gallo, and a red chili butter sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the potatoes and cheese were worth every single carb.

Costilla and Atun Tacos

I have to talk about how tasty their Costilla taco was. The Costilla taco comes with Aspen Ridge braised short rib, citrus BBQ, Fresno pepper slaw, cilantro, cotija cheese and pickled red onions. I was even more excited about their tacos when I  learned about their $2 Taco Tuesday deal. If you are a Tuna fan, then you have to try their Atun taco which comes with spice seared Saku tuna, cilantro slaw, sriracha lime crema and spicy tortilla strips.
