This past Monday, I was reunited with some of my girlfriends from my old MBA program. Everyone knows that I am the foodie of the group so I was tasked with picking the restaurant we would dine at. I had been wanting to try out The Iberian Pig for quite some time so I thought why not go here with a group of friends. I was very pleased with my choice until I was reminded that one of my friends did not eat pork. I almost thought I was going to have to change the restaurant but after reviewing their menu they had a very diverse select of meat options which had me even more impressed.
Atmosphere
When we arrived the restaurant was already packed. Lucky for us we had reservations and were quickly seated and greeted by our server. The restaurant has an intimate feel, especially with the dim lighting. It is a perfect restaurant for a date night, ladies night, or even a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary dinner. For attire, I would say it can range from casual to slightly dressy depending on the occasion.
Food Highlights
For the food, the menu mainly consists of tapas that you can share with your guests. They also have amazing meat and cheese pairings which are great starter. We saw that the tapas are slightly small in portion so we all decided to pick two items each from the menu for the table to share. Everything we had was absolutely great but I want to share with you a few of my favorites.
I absolutely love Red Snapper and when I saw it on the menu I knew I had to try it. The portion size was nice and the snapper comes on top of charred peppers and onions with a coconut seafoam. It was so tasty and the pairing with the peppers and onions truly brought everything together.
The Rabbit Empanadas was served on top of a salsa verde with Guindilla peppers. The empanadas were fried to perfection and the rabbit inside was divine.
Everyone at the table was very apprehensive to try the octopus but the server and I assured them that is one of their popular dishes. What sets their octopus apart from any other restaurants was their use of paper lantern chili sauce which adds some kick when you taste it. Everyone at the table absolutely loved it.
I really enjoyed the food at The Iberian Pig and the service was simply amazing as well. Our food was paced well to ensure we had time to finish our dishes and the staff was friendly and knew the menu very well. I definitely recommend you PAY to dine at this restaurant.
