Nestled inside of the St. Regis Hotel lies a restaurant providing an upscale fine dining experience mixed with a gallery of beautiful modern art.  The Atlas Buckhead is perfect for any date night, business dinner, or a night out with friends. Their daily changing menu comes from Executive Chef Christopher Grossman, who partners with local farmers to provide decadent dishes guests will enjoy.

Atmosphere

When I first arrived at the Atlas I was taken aback by how beautiful the outside decor was. The outside entrance made me feel as though I was on a vacation at a beautiful villa. Their outdoor patio is perfect for a night of drinks with friends or a special outdoor event. The inside of the restaurant had a very intimate feel to it as you walked in with the perfectly dimmed lighting and beautiful furniture decor. The waiting area has a lovely fireplace and seating that makes you feel as if you stepped into your living room for a nice dinner by the fire.

Another element that sets the Atlas Buckhead apart from most restaurants is their beautiful art collection. I noticed the beautiful art on the wall and was told that for a short time the Atlas will have a limited time art exhibition featuring work from local artists attending SCAD. One of my favorite pieces was titled Maneater by Alea Hurst.

Food Highlights

I know what you are really waiting for and that is the food. Anyone who knows me knows that I can never resist a good salad. I started off my winter three-course menu with the Atlas Sprouts Salad. This salad contains Vonnie’s sunflower sprouts, pea shoots, radish sprouts, parmesan housemade buttermilk ricotta, dill, toasted sunflower seeds, and black pepper. This salad definitely did not disappoint and the dressing on the salad brought it all together.

One of my absolute favorites would have to be the Pan Roasted Veal Tenderloin and the Garlic Roasted Braised Lamb Shoulder. The veal was absolutely mouth watering and very tender which made me wanting even more once I finished my plate. The lamb was cooked perfectly and absolutely divine. If these items are on the menu you definitely need to order them and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

The food from the winter three-course meal was so amazing that didn’t want it to end. Before I had dessert I had to try another item that wasn’t listed on the winter three-course menu. I love scallops and no matter what restaurant I dine at I have to try their scallop dish.

Flash-Seared Nantucket Bay Scallops

I absolutely don’t even know where is begin with this dish. The scallops were seared to perfection and the green apples and warm potato salad mix were simply amazing. If my stomach would allow me to I would have ordered the dish again to experience greatness for one more moment.

Mandarin Yuzu

A perfect dinner is never complete without dessert. If you have a sweet tooth then I have to recommend the Mandarin Tuzu for dessert. Not only does it look delightful but the taste will blow you away. If I have to describe how this dessert tastes then I would have to compare it to an elegant orange sherbet.

Overall, I had an amazing time at the Atlas Buckhead. I would definitely recommend you PAY for an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. This will definitely be a perfect place to spend your Valentine’s Day with your loved one. For more information on the Atlas Buckhead and their upcoming Valentine’s Day menu please click here.
