The moment finally came to see one of my favorite Disney animated films Aladdin  turned into a live action film. Aladdin is a dazzling magical ride filled with new surprises. Will Smith is entertaining and hilarious, truly making his own mark on this infamous role. Naomi Scott was born to play Jasmine and shines effortlessly in every musical number she’s in. Be sure to head over to my YouTube channel to check out my thoughts on the film.

Movie Synopsis:

A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.” The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.

  1. I was one of those Will Smith skeptics but after seeing the movie, I really think he did a good job. I also caught issue with the male vocals, but thought it passable

  2. I loved this! I felt the same way about how Will made this his own role with a nod to Robin Williams. I thought he was a perfect choice f rim the beginning and he was. Loved the new song and the new twists on the old songs. I’m sure this will be a repeat viewing for me in the future!

  3. I want to go see a movie with you. Can we go to lunch soon? You are so pretty and so sweet!!

  4. I am going to see this this weekend. I was skeptical but I keep hearing that it’s not bad at all!!

  5. You know I was disappointed in Jafar. As a kid I thought he was pretty darn scary but he didn’t seem like too much of a villain in the film. I still enjoyed it though.

  6. Mr. Lee Speaks: I found three dollars on the ground and saw this movie. I enjoyed this PG movie very much. It felt so real and honest. I enjoyed the singing and dancing in the movie Alladin. My focus was the cartoon, and I wasn’t disappointed. Will Smith did an remarkable job. I give this movie a B+ grade. Good day.

  7. Will did his thing, but this film has nothing on the animated Aladdin. The actors/actresses don’t do justice to the characters in the animated version and the addition of new elements to the film that aren’t in the animated version took away for me. Film is ok at best
